Our Guarantee to you and . . .
What to look for when buying a Persian Kitten
This page was written to help you in your search for the purrfect kitten. To inform you about our policies, as well as what you can do to protect yourself when buying a new family pet.

Unfortunately, every week I hear about another family that has been taken advantage of by a bad breeder. It is truely heartbreaking that what should be such a joyous event can turn out to be such a disaster.

One of the most important things, and I cannot stress this enough, is socialization. The way kittens are handled during their first few weeks will determine their attitude for life.

Cats and kittens need to be raised in a family environment for proper socialization. You certainly don't want a kitten that will do nothing but run and hide behind your furniture!!

Kittens need one on one contact, to be cuddled, groomed and played with every day.

Baby kittens need to live in a clean place to ensure that disease and parasites are not spread. If you are buying over the internet ask to see pictures of the cattery and where the kittens are born and raised.

I am proud to show pictures of our cattery, they are available for you to view here http://www.wonderfluf.com/kittyroom.html.

There are many tasks a breeder must deal with daily. Taking care of the adult cats as well as the kittens is a huge job and responsible breeders will not have more litters than they can properly care for. Breeders who have several litters born together will have a very tough time keeping them all healthy and will have not nearly enough time to properly socialize each kitten.

Ask to see the mother and father of the kitten. All kittens are adorable but you need to see the parents to get an idea of what the kitten will grow up to look like. If the mother and father's pictures are not posted on the website, ask why not.

Whether you buy a kitten from us or someplace else, NEVER buy a kitten that has not been vet checked and NEVER buy a kitten that does not have a health guarantee! Hopefully, the guarantee would offer you your money back should a problem arise.

*** Wonderfluf provides a full year Health Guarantee for all kittens.***

Educate yourself about PKD. If both parents have not been tested negative, then there is a chance you kitten could be affected. You can request a simple swab test be done to assure your kitten does not have this disease. You can order the test from UC Davis for a cost of $40. It takes about 10 days to get your results.

Ask about the nasties- Ringworm, mites, worms and fleas! Are the kittens 100% guaranteed not to have any of these? Ask how this is prevented in the cattery environment. Ringworm is especially devistating to the Persian breed. Did you know that a cat can have ringworm and you can't even see it? Worse yet, ringworm is extremely contagious and can infect your whole family by the time you even know you have a problem.

You can read our health guarantee and contract here http://www.wonderfluf.com/CONTRACT.htm

We have never had to enforce this policy. Simply put, we would never think of selling a sick kitten!!

Make sure the cattery you buy from is registered with a legitimite registry. Wonderfluf is our registered cattery name within the worlds largest and most respected registry of purebred cats- CFA http://www.cfainc.org/

Be sure your kitten has been properly vaccinated. As for the vaccinations, our vet will check to be sure that the kitten gets everything she needs before travel.
